Foundation Work
Libby Moore Cornett, the Foundation founder and president, holds a Masters' degree in Early Childhood Development from ETSU,
and has taught education classes at Mountain Empire Community College in that specific field of study. She plans to use her
knowledge in that area to further the goals of the Foundation by providing meaningful workshops, conferences and seminars to
teachers and parents on many early childhood development topics.
Another goal of the Foundation will be to pass on knowledge and practical skills to children of all ages regarding their personal
responsibility to the enivironment and the underprivileged. Future generations need to learn all they can about enviromental
issues surrounding clean air and water, and the Foundation will assist in this education process. The Foundation will also
encourage young people to take a personal interest in seeing that adequate housing and proper nutrition, especially for the
underprivileged and homeless, are readily available to the many citizens of our planet living in poverty and need of life's
essentials.
concern is protecting children from abuse and neglect. Programs that provide education and support in this area are
of great interest to the Foundation board.
Children should all have ample opportunities for enrichment of their lives -- the Foundation will thus work towards
providing various means to promote and generate these areas of potential growth for children to take full advantage.
Keeping in mind the overall goal of "Teach(ing) them the tools they'll need in life," the Foundation will strive to
provide many different ways to stimulate and expand our youths' minds through various programs and through the
support of organizations already working towards that end.
The Foundation Board encourages and welcomes any inquiries regarding the potential to provide monetary support
in the form of Foundation Grants, to those organizations already in existence and hard at work in the areas outlined
on this website.
